Christmas and stuff

 Christmas was unexpectedly difficult!  It was always the one time of year Mark would come upstairs and sit in the Livingroom with the whole family.   It's also the only time I took many pictures of him so my phone has been showing me lots of MARK all the time!


A few things to note:

1. Our dog was absolutely bananas on Christmas and all I could think about was how much Mark would have hated it and how we all would have been on edge hoping the dog didn't piss Mark off!

2. The kids seem ok.  They each have struggles of their own but overall they seem to be doing ok with the loss of a parent.  I have always been blessed to have my parents who really did a lot of the parenting!

3.  It's coming up on one year since I asked for a divorce and all heck broke lose with our lives.  Not sure how I feel about it but you know me always keeping track of the time as if it means something.


Other tid bits


I had a great Christmas Eve with Loki and his family made me feel like family!

Actual Christmas day went smoothly!  I hung out at my home then went and visited a new friend.  More on that at a later date I'm sure.

Todays the day

Today’s the day he walked out the door and never came back. Two years ago, Erica had a very interesting day. So what happened? Well, I asked him for a divorce. He said no. I told him I wanted to see other people, explore polyamory, learn more about myself and what I really needed. He asked me to give him time and to not date yet. I said okay—because I was a coward. traffic light

Tonight, a simple traffic light brought back a wave of fear I thought I had left behind. I remembered the terrifying feeling of trying to drive my husband to the doctor—how every turn, every lane choice, felt like a test I couldn’t afford to fail. Even something as small as picking the wrong lane would send panic crashing through my chest, because I knew a mistake like that would trigger his anger. He didn’t need to yell right away; the tension, the heavy silence, the way his presence filled the car with pressure—it was enough to make me feel like I couldn’t breathe.
